Its been made Simpler by UIDAI to update your aadhar card details both offline and online. We shall be discussing the steps to be followed in order to update aadhar details. The details you need to update in your aadhar could be updation of Address, correction in name , correction of date of birth DOB, updation of Registered mobile number or email-ID. You have to follow these steps to update your Aadhar card details.

How to Update Aadhar Card Details:-  Online

As discussed above a person can update various details(address, his/her name, date of birth, gender, mobile number and email ) of his aadhar card through online portal. Step by step procedure is given below:-

Step 1. Visit/Goto  Aadhaar’s Self Service Update Portal (SSUP)

Step 2 :- Read All the instructions carefully

Step 3. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number

Step 4. Enter Text verification Code in given box.

Step 5. Click on Send OTP or Enter TOTP

Step 6. Enter OTP received on your Registered Mobile number and login to your Aadhar account.

Note :- If you don’t received any OTP number on your phone . click on Resend OTP Button.

Step 7. In Case you don’t want to use OTP feature, you can use the TOTP feature to authenticate your Aadhar login.

Step 8. Now you have to Select/click on Address Update Checkbox.

Step 9. Next you have to fill in details you want to update in your Aadhar both in English as well as your local language.

Note :- Your Address details need to be complete and correct as Aadhar letter will be delivered to your given address only.

Step 10 :- Next step is uploading color scanned copy of your Supportive documents in order to validate your address change request.

Step 11:– Click on Submit but make sure details entered by you are correct.

Step12. You May Print Your Acknowledgement Copy or just note down your update Request Number (URN) for future tracking of your request.

Once Your Details have been verified and updated by UIDAI . you can Download and Print Your Aadhar card online.

Update Aadhar Card Details – Offline

You may get your Aadhar details updating by visiting nearest Aadhar enrolment Centre .

Step 1:- You have to Get a  Aadhar Correction Form and fill in the details Regarding your Request of updation.

Step 2:- Attach Valid Attested copy of Proof that can Validate your Request of Updation.

Step 3 :- You have to pay updation charges at Aadhar enrolment Centre.

Step 4 :- Submit Correction form and attested copies along with fee deposit receipt

Step 5 :- You will receive a Acknowledgement Receipt.

OR

You can also send in your request to update Aadhar details by registered post . In order to send your update steps . follow these Steps.

Step 1:- Download  and fill Aadhar Correction form indication your update request in Aadhar card.

Step 2 :- Attach Valid Attested copy of Proof that can Validate your Request of Updation.

  • Date of birth Certificate on their letterhead issued by either the Tehsildar or the Gazetted Officer.

Note :-

Important things that should be kept in mind while updating/correcting Aadhar card details are:

  • The changes that an individual enters must be correct and appropriate documents which an individual is attaching with the form must be approved.
  • The required details must be filled in English or in the local language.
  • While correcting the Aadhar card details, it must be made sure that the URN is kept safe as it would help the holder to check the status of update.
  • If the holder of the card no longer has the registered phone number with him then the offline method of correcting the Aadhar card should be adopted.
  • Make sure that all the details entered in the correction form are filled in capital letters.
  • All the necessary information must be filled and no option should be kept unattended.
  • Make sure not to use any salutations or designations while writing the name of the holder.
  • Only those documents that are required as proof should be sent along with the form.
  • The corrected Aadhar card will be sent to the address mentioned in the Aadhaar card and it must be made sure that the card holder is present at the location for receiving it.
  • The photocopy of the documents sent by the card holder must be attested by the sender.
